About Cambridge Stroke Recovery

A support group for Stroke Survivors and their families. We help to bring them from ‘survive’ to ‘Thrive’.

Inspire … Encourage … Support …

Stroke Statistics

According to The Lived Experience of Stroke Report… the largest UK survey of stroke survivors, over 10,000 people closely affected by stroke shared their experiences. Below are some of the most compelling results. You can read the full report here.

1 in 2

people said stroke had impacted their relationships.

We’re here for people affected by Stroke. We provide information and support to help Stroke Survivors and their caregivers manage everyday life.

69%

of stroke survivors said their independence had been impacted and for 42% this impact was moderate to severe.

This means there is a huge demand on the caregivers. A stroke not only affects the survivor, it affects the entire family.

75%

survey respondents suffered serious emotional problems.

27% of whom reported not receiving sufficient emotional support to rebuild their lives.
